What do I do if I am having trouble opening zip files, or transferring pattern files to my system?

If you need help downloading & transferring files: Follow the downloading & unzipping instructions on our website http://www.digitechpatterns.com/category_s/1983.htm

If your computer seems to want to open the zip file or other file with a program that it should not be opening the file, you probably have changed or selected to have that program as the default program for opening that file type / extension by accident.
Here is information that will help you to change the program that is being used as the default program for opening zip files. http://www.howtogeek.com/137483/beginner-geek-7-ways-you-can-change-default-applications-and-file-associations-in-windows/

What you’ll want to do is make the default program for opening zip files Windows Explorer. Make sure not to choose Internet Explorer, as that is different from Windows Explorer. Here is how to find that: http://www.bitser.org/restore-zip-file-association-to-windows-default.shtm

Windows 10 Users: Please note that a new app called 3D Builder has been included in Windows 10. This has changed the description of DXF files. The description will read "3D Object". It is still a DXF file. You can allow the DXF file extension to show by changing a few settings. This information is available is available here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions#show-hide-file-name-extensions=windows-7 or you can have us walk you through it by requesting a consultation time as part of our Beyond The Help Desk service.

What do I do if I have would like to submit a custom design request?
We do set aside time each month for customer requests. Because this time is limited, it is often booked 1-3 months in advance. Please plan accordingly when making your request.
Here is other information that you should know before submitting a custom request:

  • If a request is a variation of a current design, your request will be forwarded to the designer. By contract we are not allowed to simply make a variation of a design and sell it for all designers.
  • Our labor rate for custom design work is $80/hour, with a 15 minute minimum. Please email us for an estimate. Occasionally, we will develop & digitize a design based on a request and then sell it on our sites. If that's the case then the request will be added to our request list, no digitizing charges will be incurred. The customer making the request will be emailed when the design is available for purchase. All rights will remain that of the designer or digitizer producing the design.
  • If you have an idea, feel free to email us and we'll put it on our list of design ideas and perhaps one of the designers will decided that they'd like to make a design based on the idea requested. There are no guarantees that it will be done in a certain amount of time, or that it will be exactly what was requested.
